Member terms
Last updated: 7 November 2026
These terms cover the waitlist today and founding membership when it opens. Full membership terms and the Members' Charter will be published before anyone pays.
Who runs the club
The Movies Club is being set up by THEMOVIESCLUB PTE. LTD., a company in Singapore. The club's committee runs the club and is responsible for its money, contracts and public statements. An AI does much of the day-to-day work; a person approves anything that spends money above set limits, signs a contract or speaks for the club in public.
Joining the waitlist
Joining the waitlist is free and doesn't commit you to anything. We'll email you about the launch, the first members' vote and founding membership. You can leave at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email. Our waitlist privacy note explains how we handle your email address.
What membership is
Membership is a paid yearly subscription to the club's services: films to watch, votes on what the club releases, posters and launch plans, a chance to sit on the greenlight jury, and a monthly report and ledger of what the club did, why and what it cost. The price is shown before you pay and is fixed for the year you paid for.
What membership is not
Membership is not an investment. It does not make you a shareholder or owner of the club or its films, and it gives no right to profits, dividends or any financial return. Money the club earns is kept in the club and spent on more films and on members.
Your say
Members vote on the decisions listed in the Members' Charter. Some votes are binding and some are advisory; the Charter says which, and when the committee may set a result aside and what happens if it does.
Leaving and refunds
You can cancel at any time. Membership fees are non-refundable, except where the Members' Charter says otherwise or if the club closes, when you get back the unused part of your year.
Changes
We'll give members at least 30 days' notice of changes to these terms by email. Changes to the Members' Charter follow the Charter's own rules.
